Manage File Type Controls
Cisco Secure Access provides file type controls in security profiles, in order to control access to certain types of files. When enabled, a source that attempts to download a selected file type is presented with a Block page and the requested file cannot be downloaded.
Secure Access checks a file based on the file's file extension and also evaluates each file to determine its type. For example, if a .gif file extension is changed to .xyz, Secure Access is still able to detect that the file is a .gif file. Thus, if you set your policy rule to block .gif files but allow .xyz files, Secure Access blocks any .gif file that has had its extension changed to .xyz.
