Chrome Enterprise Browser

Cisco Secure Access integrates with Chrome Enterprise to provide secure access to corporate resources and applications, particularly within a managed environment. This combination offers a robust solution for secure remote access and data protection.

Overview

Enterprise browsers enable conditional access policies restricting private resource application access to authorized employees and contractors connecting through the browser using an endpoint with a healthy security posture.

Enterprise browsers alleviate the concerns over unmanaged devices, reducing the risk of data exfiltration and reducing the complexity of implementing security controls.

Chrome Enterprise builds upon the standard Chrome browser and is designed for businesses, offering enhanced deployment, management, and security features, while the consumer version is the standard Chrome browser for personal use.

The Google Admin console allows IT administrators to manage various Google products for their organization, including the Chrome and Chrome Enterprise browsers.

For administrators who manage Chrome browser or ChromeOS devices for a business or school, the Chrome Enterprise Connectors Framework offers a collection of connectors and APIs that simplify the steps needed to integrate Chrome Enterprise browser and ChromeOS with Secure Access.

Important

To integrate Chrome Enterprise browser with Secure Access you'll need to configure the Secure Access Enterprise Connector (i.e. IdP Agnostic Browser Trust) in the Chrome Enterprise dashboard. This provides the required URL patterns and service account name parameters for your Secure Access org. For more information, see Chrome Enterprise Connectors Framework.

Prerequisites

  • Full Admin user role. For more information, see Manage Accounts.
  • Access to the Google Admin Console. You'll need an administrator account for access the Admin console.
    • To get a Google Admin administrator account, you need to have a domain-verified Google Workspace or Cloud Identity account and then sign in to the Google Admin console at admin.google.com using your administrator credentials.
  • A configured Chrome Enterprise connector for your Secure Access org.
    • To configure a Chrome Enterprise connector, you'll need to sign in to the Google Admin console, navigate to Devices > Chrome browser > Connectors, and then choose the provider and set up the configuration details, including testing the connection and adding the configuration. Procedure

  1. Navigate to Admin > Third-party Integrations and click Integrate.

  2. In the Google Admin console, copy and paste this Secure Access integration data to set up the Google Chrome Enterprise Device Trust Connector for Secure Access. For more information, see the Prerequisites section.

  3. Enter an Integration name for this configuration and click Integrate to complete the integration.

  4. Click the ellipse menu (...) to view or modify the integration name. The URL patterns and Service accounts information is available in read-only format.
