Migration Scenarios
If you are a Secure Access Chromebook customer and you are migrating to Cisco Security for Chromebook client, you could have one of the following migration scenarios:

Scenario 1 applies to Secure Access DNS customers. Scenarios 2 and 3 apply to Secure Access SIG customers.
Scenario 1
You are an Secure Access DNS customer, you have Cisco Umbrella Chromebook client deployed, and you are migrating to Cisco Security for Chromebook client.
What you need to do:
Block or uninstall the Umbrella Chromebook App and Extension before you deploy the Cisco Security for Chromebook client. For more information on the Cisco Security for Chromebook client, see Get Started.
Scenario 2
You are an Umbrella SIG customer, have Cisco Umbrella Chromebook client deployed, and you are migrating to Cisco Security for Chromebook client.
What you need to do:
Block or uninstall the Chromebook App and Extension and deploy the Cisco Security for Chromebook client. For more information on deploying the Cisco Security for Chromebook client, see Deploy the Chromebook Client.
Optionally, you can also enable SWG layer protection. Ensure that you add Chromebook specific policies, and have the required root certificates installed on your Chromebooks.
Scenario 3
You are an Umbrella SIG customer, have SWG Umbrella Chromebook client deployed, and you are migrating to Cisco Security for Chromebook client.
What you need to do:
Your client is automatically upgraded to Cisco Security for Chromebook client. You can optionally enable DNS protection using DNS-over-HTTPS. For more information on deploying the Cisco Security for Chromebook client, see Deploy the Chromebook Client.
Ensure that you add Chromebook-specific Web and DNS policies, and have the required root certificates installed on your Chromebooks.
