Secure Access Regions

Cisco Secure Access has instances of regional network and computing data centers that protect and manage public and private resources. The Secure Access regions are located geographically around the world. Network branches, data centers, and user devices can connect to the Secure Access regions through Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA), and Virtual Private Networks (VPNs). Each region is highly available and composed of two or more physically independent data centers.

A region has three identical instances that support client connections and access to resources.

  • Secure Access is available in 27 Regions around the world for Secure Internet, ZTA, and RAVPN, with three points of presence (PoP) in each region, for a total of 81 PoPs.

DNS security (included with Secure Access) is served by Umbrella’s 40+ edge data centers.

  • Of the 27 Regions, any given Secure Access customer will have access to only certain regions depending on where the customer’s users are located. Customers need to have a minimum of 500 users for each Region where they want to deploy.
Note: This is unlike Umbrella where customers are automatically given access to all edge data centers.
  • At GA, a subset of the 27 Regions will be online. The remaining Regions will be brought online according to demand. Bringing a Region online is a one-time activity and should generally take less than two weeks.
