About Synthetic Tests for Endpoint Agents
Troubleshoot your employees' experience when accessing your organization's approved SaaS and private applications by running synthetic tests. Synthetic tests are designed to identify performance issues with user journeys by simulating real-user traffic to monitor the availability of services and the response time of applications.
How the test works
When you onboard with Secure Access, the Cisco ThousandEyes endpoint agent is installed on the end user's laptop or desktop that monitors applications through a browser plug-in. Because the agent goes where the user goes, you can use it to troubleshoot performance issues for a user or set of users along their path from the device to the cloud service.
Prerequisites
- A ThousandEyes Essentials or Advantage license.
- With an Essentials license, you can run 4 tests per agent (1 dynamic test and 3 scheduled tests). Test data is retained for 14 days.
- With an Advantage license, you can run 10 tests per agent (1 dynamic test and 9 scheduled tests). Test data is retained for 30 days.
